Date extended for trial elections The date for SMS Trial Elections have been extended till 24 Aug 2010 beacuse initial 2 days were lost due to 15 Aug and some problem due to interconnection issue between Tata and Airtel. The Airtel mobiles are still not receiving sms from UPOA. We hope it will be sorted soon. We are working on alternative arrangements. Hope you will bear with us.Please do participate in trial elections to Save Paper and Save Earth.

SMS election Process Dear MembersThank you all for tremendous response in sms trial. Nearly 50% of all traceable member of upoa responded in the reharsal of sending sms. All the members of UPOA will be registered irrespective of response to the last sms drill. This was for practice only. The phase 1 is now closed. The 2nd phase will begin in Aug . In second phase you will first recive a password which you have to save. That password will be valid for the phase 2 only. Details will be posted on website at a suitable time. The format of next sms will be bit more tricky that's why this practice drill was performed. All this technicality are beacuse of security only. The actual vote will be counted from mobile number of UPOA member only (in our database) who knows his membership number and having a valid passowrd sent to his mobile only.
Voting by SMS in UPOA elections Dear membersThis year the GBM held al Allahabad in Feb 2010 have approved to explore the system of SMS for voting in elections of UPOA. To access this we will be having dummy elections during the month of July-Aug 2010. The result of dummy elections will be presented in next executive meeting at Lucknow. This process will be much more safe than the physical ballot besides being more convienent, cost effective and eviorment friendely. Your suggasations are welcome. Regards Dr. Sanjay Jain Ghaziabad
